Russ Coates
Russ Coates Lives in the village of South Bolton, in the Missisquoi
River valley, in Southern Quebec, near the Vermont border. He was
born
on a farm and now owns a small pre-cast concrete business.
When he was 16 yrs old, he traded a watch for an old banjo. This
started
him playing music. With a fiddle and guitar player, they used
to play for kitchen and house parties. This lead to country and western
music
bands for 15 yrs. Played for 2 1/2 years on a Vermont radio station.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1963 and started writting
Gospel
songs. He has been able to sing these " Homemade " songs
at many churches in the area, in northern Vermont and Ontario . He has
written
over 200 Gospel songs and has recorded 4 albums.
Also has a song book out called " Sermons in Song ". He does not love
music, but he
loves songs.Gospel songs are really sowing seeds
for our Lord and we pray for a good harvest . What greater thing
could he do.
